WHAT IS TRANSACTION PROCESSING SYSTEM?

  • TPS is a system which collects and controls information and data about transactions which happens in a system.
  • It controls the day to day transactions in an organization.
  • TPS has high volumes of inputs and outputs.
  • It is a basic busines system.
  • There are two types of TPS;
  1. Batch Processing.
  2. Real Time processing.

WHAT IS BATCH PROCESSING?

Batch processing is where all the data and information are collected and processed later on as batch or a whole.
E.g; Paying as a cheque.

WHAT IS REAL TIME PROCESSING?

Real time processing is where data and information are processed at that particular time when the transaction occurs.
E.g; ATM (Automatic Teller Machine)
